Best video sound for your DSLR:

At NAB, audio specialist Sennheiser is unveiling the MKE 440, a stereo camera microphone that solves a typical challenge encountered by DSLR users: capturing focused stereo sound from the filmed object. “The MKE 440 is not only the most compact stereo shotgun microphone on the market,” said Kai Lange, Sennheiser product manager, Broadcast and Media. “Quite unlike other stereo camera microphones, it will predominantly pick up the sound from within the camera angle thanks to its new stereo principle.” The result is a well-balanced mix between ambient sound and clearly comprehensible speech and dialogue. “This enables DSLR users to capture professional stereo sound in one go, which saves production time and effort,” added Kai Lange.

Public premiere at NAB: Sennheiser previews all new action microphone for GoPro cameras

At NAB, Sennheiser will preview a new action microphone for GoPro cameras. Designed to be the ideal audio partner to a GoPro camera in its ultra-tough housing, the audio specialist’s new microphone is able to easily withstand adverse conditions such as wind, water, snow and splashes of mud. Due to its advanced capsule design and watertight connection with the camera housing, the action microphone will even be able to record audio under water. The microphone will allow users to capture fantastic sound in scenarios where audio recording currently yields poor results or is not possible at all.

Maximum compatibility: the Sennheiser EK 6042 two-channel camera receiver

NAB 2016 marks the US launch of Sennheiser’s brand-new EK 6042 slot-in camera receiver, which was previewed earlier at IBC. The true-diversity, two-channel EK 6042 can work with analogue and digital Sennheiser transmitters or – a world first – a mix thereof, across a bandwidth of 184 MHz. It is an ideal partner to Sennheiser’s top-of-the-range Digital 9000 series and all analogue transmitters that feature HiDyn plus or HDX companders. The EK 6042 auto-configures for these transmitters via IR, saving set-up time and hassle for broadcast and filming crews who place a high value on sound quality and wireless reliability.

A rugged dynamic mic for your digital recordings: Sennheiser previews HandMic digital

Highly resistant to cell phone interference, the cardioid dynamic handheld microphone is ideal for mobile journalism, podcasting or vocal and instrument recording.
